Intensive In Home Clinical Services

Intensive In home clinical services by James Consulting Services, LLC include individual and family psychotherapy along with strength and needs assessments. Services are structured and directive, briefer and time limited, and focused on what is maintaining the problem. Moreover, Dr. James takes an educational approach to psychotherapy and focuses on the assumption that an objective reality exists independent of our awareness of it.

Types of services provided include assisting the parent / child in developing parent / family life goals, exploring parenting goals for psychotherapy, learning adaptive frustration tolerance, learning stress reduction techniques, problem solving skill development, psycho-educational services, crisis planning, and trauma informed counseling.

Our goal is to meet the needs of the family from our experience in:

  • —Educating the client, the family, and peers in the field
  • —Understanding the need for additional trainings for in-home therapists
  • —Developing a comprehensive yet individualized strength based treatment plan
  • —Collaborative documentation with family during session
  • —Developing an individualized crisis plan from a collaborative perspective
  • —Providing supervision within the field to Masters and Licensed level of care to ensure community based and culturally competent service

  • —Based on Stoic philosophy
  • —Uses Socratic Method
  • —Structured and directive

  • —Focuses on the present (Not particularly concerned with the origin of the problem, but what maintains it)
